Developer Bootcamp Consulting Project Using StackOverflow Survey
In order to create a successful developer bootcamp, it is essential to be aware of current trends in languages both by developer preference and industry direction. With this being said, I, alongside Sophie and Jackson (two classmates of mine), analyzed the 2022 StackOverflow Survey data to pinpoint two languages to best equip attendees of a prospective coding bootcamp for the industry.

Wind Energy Use Across the United States
The visualization highlights the dominance of the Southwest and Midwest regions in turbine-based energy production over time. The top line chart shows the number of turbines by region, revealing that from around the late 1990s onwards, the Southwest and Midwest regions have significantly outpaced other areas in terms of turbine installations. The rapid growth in these two regions is clearly visible, making them the uncontested leaders in turbine-based energy.
The bottom bar chart further confirms this trend, depicting the total turbine power capacity by region. The Southwest and Midwest have substantially larger turbine power capacity compared to all other regions combined, underscoring their leading position in harnessing turbine-based energy sources.
Brain Drain Across America
This visualization provides insights into the movement patterns of students after graduation across different states and regions in the United States. The first map shows the ratio of graduates coming to a state versus graduating from that state, with the District of Columbia standing out as a heavy outlier. The second map displays the percentage of students leaving their graduation state, revealing that Northeastern states struggle the most in retaining their graduates, with states like West Virginia and Vermont leading the issue. The bar chart at the bottom quantifies the net change regionally, indicating that the Midwest experiences the highest influx of graduates, while the Northeast sees the highest outflow. This data highlights the challenges faced by certain regions in attracting and retaining talented graduates, which can have significant economic and demographic implications.
